About me

Mathias Jansson is a Swedish artcritic, cultural journalist and webeditor, with a passion for Game Art (i.e contemporary art inspired by videogames)  and New Media Art.

Work: I have been working as a webeditor for Sveriges Konstföreningar and the art magazine Konstperspektiv since 2000. Before that I use to be an art librarian at the Malmo Art Academy.

Artcritic: I am a member of  AICA  (The International Association of Art Critics) and use to write artcritism and cultur journalism in magazines and blogs as Konsten.net, Konstperspektiv, Tidningen Kulturen and Gamescenens.org. Usually its about New Media Art and Game Art, but also about videogames, litterature and art.

Editor: I have been working as a webeditor for small webmagazines as Boksofffan 3.0 and Konstperspektivs Webbmagazine.

Author: Well I am trying to write drama and poetry in Swedish to practice my skills in writing.

Books: I am planning to publish a book in 2011 with my interviews with the pioneers of Game Art.

Education: I have a master’s degree in arthistory from Umeå University and have studied Culturejournalism at Malmö Högskola. I am also an PhD student at Lunds University, but I haven’t done anything yet with my thesis.
